Usually when I see “trainee” on a badge I get worried that the person is not up to speed on everything but this was not the case. The Front Desk Agent was a trainee according to his name badge. I arrived around 4:00PM on a Friday and walked right up to the check-in desk.
I recommend dropping your luggage off at the front before checking in if you do not want to carry it. Depending on the side of the building your room is on, the parking lot can be a long walk from your room. I like to park my own car so I used the self-park option. The hotel has regular shuttle service that will take you to these places. While the resort feels secluded from the rest of the world, it is only a few minutes drive from the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino, Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse and the Phoenix Premium Outlets. It is a 20 minutes drive from Sky Harbor Airport. The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass is located just off Interstate 10 south of Phoenix Arizona. This is not a Disney-like re-creation, but an accurate representation of the culture of Gila River Indian Community. I was amazed at the attention to detail that was put into the design from the artwork on the walls to the spa treatments and the food at Kai, their signature restaurant. The resort was designed to reflect the culture of the Indian community that owns it. Located on the Gila River Indian Community the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass is a unique resort owned by the Akimel O’otham and Pee Posh tribes.
